Nando's is a restaurant group providing a casual dining experience, they originate from South Africa with a Portuguese theme. Each restaurant has a friendly vibrant atmosphere, created by the hand selected eclectic mix of global music, eye catching artwork and unique design features. Caswells have completed many projects for Nando's in both Northern Ireland and Eire.

The latest of these was at the Mahon Shopping Centre just outside if Cork. The restaurant was located on the ground floor of the development, with the plan located on the roof at fourth floor level. Caswells were involved in this project from the early stages over twelve months prior to the start on site. We worked closely with the Architects Harrison Design, the Client and the rest of the design team.

Caswells designed, installed and commissioned the HVAC Services associated with this project. The HVAC Systems comprised, restaurant air conditioning, restaurant and kitchen tempered air supply, toilet and ancillary area ventilation, kitchen canopies, and fully welded fire rated kitchen extract system. The air conditioning was provided by the latest in Fan Coil technology providing a low carbon solution. The kitchen extract system included Stainless Steel Canopies, designed, manufactured and installed by Caswell.

The kitchen extract ductwork is manufacture from CASWELL FIRESAFE Fire Rated Ductwork. This system was designed by Caswells associated company Firesafe, and has been tested and assessed to BS 476 Pt 24 by Warrington Fire Research. Caswell manufacture and install this premium product throughout the UK.

On this project the ductwork system was fully welded and grease tight, providing 1hr Stability, Integrity and insulation in accordance with BS 476 Pt 24. Over 50 metres of fire duct extended from the kitchen and up the riser to the roof level plant area. The HVAC Services were completed, and commissioned on programme successfully be the design and construction teams
