McDonalds Restaurants Ltd

Eastbank Street, Southport

Southport was the first project the Caswells completed for McDonald's back in 1982 Since the up to the present day Caswell Engineering has worked on 1,000 new McDonald stores, and in excess of 250 store refurbishments.

One of our biggest refurbishment projects was Southport in 2008, 26 years after we completed the original build Back in 1982 Caswells won the competitive tenders, to supply and install the complete HVAC Services to the new McDonalds store at Southport, the 77th store that Mcdonalds opened the the United Kingdom.

Twenty five years on, McDonalds once again appointed Caswells as principal contractor to replace the life expired HVAC equipment and ventilation systems. Caswell Engineering were tasked with replacing the life expired hot water and chilled water air conditioning systems plus a complete refurbishment of all ceiling mounted grilles and external fresh air louvres. The existing LPHW boiler and DX systems were too large and heavy to remove intact from the plant room and were subsequently cut up in situ and the refrigerant recovered was disposed of under special licence.

New Lennox Split AC systems were installed all set out to allow maintenance access and new ducts were installed to serve the children's party room and play areas. Working closely with the store managers we avoided any disruption to trading by doing key works overnight. All the above was achieved by managing the project and our sub contractors to provide the client with fully refurbished HVAC systems on budget and within program.
