McDonald's Restaurants Ltd

Eastbank Street, Southport

Southport was the first project that Caswell completed for McDonald's, back in 1982. Since then up to the present day Caswell Engineering has worked on over 1,200 new McDonald restaurants and in excess of 250 refurbishments.

One of our biggest refurbishment projects was Southport in 2008, 26 years after we completed the original build Back in 1982. Caswell's won the competitive tender to supply and install complete HVAC Services to the new McDonald's store at Southport, the 77th store that McDonald's opened the the United Kingdom.

Twenty five years on, McDonald's once again appointed Caswell as principal contractor to replace the life expired HVAC equipment and ventilation systems. Caswell Engineering were tasked with replacing the life expired hot water and chilled water air conditioning systems plus a complete refurbishment of all ceiling mounted grilles and external fresh air louvres. The existing LPHW boiler and DX systems were too large and heavy to remove intact from the plant room and were subsequently cut up in-situ and the refrigerant recovered was disposed of under special licence.

New Lennox Split AC systems were installed all set out to allow maintenance access and new ducts were installed to serve the children's party room and play areas. Working closely with the store managers we avoided any disruption to trading by doing key works overnight.

All the above was achieved through hands-on project and supply chain management and provided our long term client with fully refurbished HVAC systems, on budget and within program.
