This state of the art medical facility required two separate air conditioning systems serving pressurised clean rooms and office / staff areas where an extraction system was also installed.

One major challenge to overcome was that none of the ducting could be supported from the portal building frame and this involved Caswell Engineering designing and installing specialised duct support frames some 6 metre off the ground. Another challenge to overcome was that no weight could be placed on the suspended ceiling grid and we designed and installed special twin loop adjustable gripple wires fixed back to duct droppers. The result was that the ceiling mounted grilles were self supporting totally independent of the grid.

The specification called for air leakage tests to be done and this passed the test by a substantial margin.
